In an effort to support Stabilization and Reconstruction Operations (SRO), convoys and patrols must operate in Military Operations on Urbanized Terrain (MOUT) using major roadways. As a result, the use of “white lights” causes a strong glare or “halo effect” to overwhelm the appearance of an oncoming vehicle, making it difficult to distinguish friendly from unknown vehicles at night.
